		<description>There&#039;s an in-line adjuster that can be used; but I don&#039;t use it. Soldering with large solder bars removes a lot of heat from the tip, the recovery time would take too long if the iron was turned down. </description>

		<description>I had an old iron that wouldn&#039;t tin properly; get a file. File all sides until all of the old solder is gone and you see bright shiny copper. Then re tin the iron with a salamoniac block and NEW 50/50 solder; re tinning with old or dirty solder makes it twice as hard it seems.

		<description>I picked up the same Iron as shown at my local flea market for $2.00. I love it, its just a bit big for my hand weight wise. It is and old one by the looks of the cord and I think it may have been mistreated since I am having difficulty tinning it.</description>
